The E-Cigarette Alternative

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

For years cigarette smokers have wished for an alternative to the traditional cigarette. They love the experience of smoking and the way the nicotine satisfies them. They hate the smoke that clings to their clothes and hair and furniture. They hate the discoloration of their teeth from the smoke and additives. They hate the messiness of ashes and the risk of starting an accidental fire. Most of all, they hate the constant nagging by non-smokers who are annoyed by the second-hand smoke.

These people will be happy to know that the electronic cigarette has arrived and solves all those problems. There is no smoke, no ashes and no flame. There are also no chemical additives like tar and carbon monoxide and no particulates to make them cough. Since the cigarette is a tube that is reused, there are no butts or other debris.

In addition to not having all the downsides of regular cigarettes, E-cigarettes have their own benefits. They cost significantly less than traditional cigarettes. Since they are smoke free, they can be enjoyed in places that ban smoking. They deliver nicotine and flavor through a vaporization process that results in a cleaner, more enjoyable experience. And the amount of nicotine can be controlled by the “smoker” instead of by the tobacco company. Best of all, no more lectures, complaints, or nagging from non-smokers about the effects of the second-hand smoke, since there is none.

Using Ring Tone Makers

Friday, January 14th, 2011

The proliferation of cell phones has led to an entire industry devoted to the ring tone. Hard to believe that what used to be a literal ring on a house phone is now a multi-million dollar industry dedicated to helping people express their personality and feelings in the form of short sounds, tones, and songs that play when someone calls their cell.

Every cell comes with pre-loaded ring tones and it is possible to download a free ringtone from various sites. Most cell phone users will purchase special songs and sounds for their phones to further personalize the ring associated with each person in the contact list.

They can take things a step further by making a custom ring tone. for this they need access to a ring tone maker and a sound file to sample. This usually means taking any song from their home music collection and uploading it the ring tone maker. They can then sample or loop it however they want and then send it to their cell phone using a USB cable, e-mail, bluetooth device, or by sending a text.

Once the sound file is on the phone, it can be assigned to a specific use. This usually means as a literal ring tone for a specific caller, but the tones can also be used for texts, emails, social network updates or as an alarm clock on the phone. While most files are songs, it is also possible to extract dialogue, animal noises, or pretty much any sound that the phone user has recorded.
