Casey had always been attracted to the Pacific North West and had visited Seattle multiple times and had been to Portland only once. However, he felt more of a natural affinity toward Portland and had always planned on returning. That was the main reason that he quickly offered his hand in response to his supervisor asking for volunteers to go on a business related trip to Portland. Everyone in the room looked at Casey as if he had lost his mind or was trying to be the boss’s pet. Only Cheryl, one of his co-workers suspected the reason. She knew Casey loved Portland and being from there the two of them had quite a few conversations about it.

Most of the staff in Casey’s company did not enjoy going on business trips. It wasn’t that none of them enjoyed traveling, but they rarely had time for anything other than meetings and projects and they all found the whole thing tedious, Casey included. This time was much different however and he could hardly wait to pack his bags and settle into his room in one of the best hotels in Portland.

Before he left, Cheryl told him some places he had to visit and sights to see. One of these was to visit the ocean if he had some time to do so. She claimed that the Oregon coastline was beautiful and should not be missed. However, he shouldn’t plan on swimming, just bring a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Casey would have liked to do just that, however he was more concerned about getting tickets to a Trailblazer’s basketball game. The other thing he really wanted to do was left over from his one previous trip. He had heard the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry was high quality and Cheryl recommended he see one of the shows in the Planetarium. This is definitely going to be a great business trip.
